One Of The Best Lightweight Strollers

The Maclaren Quest Sport lightweight stroller has received high praise from online reviewers and can be considered one of the best lightweight strollers available on the market today. • New longer sun hood for extra coverage
• Reflective accents for night safety
• Carry strap for easy travel when folded
• Foot-operated linked parking brakes and front swivel wheels

• Rain cover
• Sovereign lifetime warranty
• 5-point harness
• Removable, washable seat
• Compact umbrella fold
• Water resistant hood
• High-performance aluminum frame
• Mesh Basket
• 5-second, one-hand fold

Maclaren Quest Sport Stroller User Reviews

The Maclaren Quest Sport stroller has received an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from users on amazon.com, toysrus.com, babyearth.com and diapers.com.

Overall, reviewers are extremely pleased with the Quest Sport praising the stroller’s seat recline, footrest and the storage basket, and noting that the stroller handles beautifully, especially around corners. Like the other Maclaren umbrella strollers, reviewers say the Quest Sport is lightweight, easy to fold with one hand, and extremely compact when folded. The greatest bonus of the Maclaren Quest Sport over the other Maclaren lightweight strollers is its recline feature. One reviewer says the seat reclines enough to create a flat surface for your toddler to sleep comfortably or to even use as a makeshift changing table for changing diapers on the go. Several reviewers say the stroller is well worth the price and is a great stroller for travel, or even for everyday use.

Maclaren Quest Stroller Negatives

Negative comments regarding the Quest Sport include, as with the other Maclaren lightweight strollers, its lack of cup holder and its inadequate sun protection from the stroller’s canopy. Some reviewers also complain that the harness straps easily became twisted making it hard to adjust and buckle the straps. A frequent complaint among users is that the storage basket under the stroller is inaccessible when the seat is fully reclined. This, coupled with the fact that you cannot hang bags off the handle bars of lightweight strollers, makes traveling with many bags or objects a challenge when your child is traveling with the seat in the recline position.

However, as far as I know, all lightweight, reclining strollers have this same drawback so if you are in the market for such a stroller, this should not be a reason to not purchase the Maclaren Quest Sport. However, if the storage issue is a problem for you then you may want to consider a non-reclining lightweight stroller (the upright seat always allows access to the storage basket) or a standard-size stroller.

My Two Cents

Overall the complaints about the Quest Sport do not add up to much. Users can just buy a cup holder to attach to the stroller and the basket issue is the same as on all lightweight strollers that come with a fully reclining seat (which is a great feature, in my opinion). So, if you can afford the price tag and are in the market for a great lightweight stroller, I say go for it.

**The Maclaren Quest Sport is part of the Maclaren 2009 voluntary recall of all Quest strollers produced between the years 1999-2009 after 12 reports were received by Maclaren about the amputation of fingers from Maclaren’s hinge system. Kits are now provided for free by Maclaren to cover the hinge system. If you purchase the Quest Sport new from toysrus.com or from diapers.com, the special hinge covering kit is included with the stroller.
